TTK: Video Verite

TTKs are Sky Blue Window's 'Things to Know,' events, ideas and cultural creations that we think are worthy of your time and attention.

Recently, two new music videos have made their way into our online world, thanks to Indianapolis artists. Psych pop rocker S.M. Wolf's "King of Suits" video premiered at a Feb. 15 release party at General Public Collective. BrainTwins created a black and white, animated piece for the song that's part hypnotic geometry exploration, part weather forecast and, true to the art and illustration duos' style, full of handmade charm.

Last week, Utah's Mideau premiered the video to its dreamy single "Way with Words" at All Things Go. The video was both directed and danced by local photographer and occasional filmmaker Jonathan Frey. In front of a red backdrop and in a darker red suit, Frey uses head bobs, wrist twists and the hippest jumping jacks in dancing. His moves recall the best David Byrne mid-song dance moves but add sweetness, fluidity and a killer mustache to the scene.
