TTK: Dap King Dance Party

TTKs are Sky Blue Window's 'Things to Know,' events, ideas and cultural creations that we think are worthy of your time and attention.

Whether you're below the legal drinking age or just an early-to-bed adult, there's no need to miss the Dap Kings (AKA the folks who backed Amy Winehouse back in the day) when they visit Indianapolis with Sharon Jones next week. True to their promises of more events, connections and fun, the Indy CD & Vinyl crew made a few calls and booked some pretty happening deejays for March 4.

The free event is open to all ages and all fans - and we'd expect that it'll be a pretty serious party in the shop. Dap Kings will take over the decks for a while, likely showcasing the analog sounds that they replicate on their Daptone label, alongside DJ Indiana Jones and Shimmercore, who will play a Northern Soul set. The powers that be also plan to discount Sharon Jones and Dap King releases.
