Reinterpreting Monet

Spencer Finch, a Brooklyn-based artist, pairs a scientific approach with a sense of poetry to draw our attention to natural phenomena. Following Nature, a new installation Finch created for the Indianapolis Museum of Art's Efroymson Family Entrance Pavilion incorporates nearly 200 pieces of glass to capture water's movement and reflectivity. Finch's explains his work in this video, which was inspired in part by a visit made to Giverny, France, Monet's home. The installation will be on display until August 25, 2013.
