Playing For Change Day. Playing For Change Day is a worldwide fundraising event for Playing For Change Foundation. Founded on the fundamental idea that peace and change are possible through the universal language of music, Playing For Change Foundation's mission is to ensure any child with the desire to receive musical education will have the opportunity to do so. Since 2010 they have founded nine music and arts schools in impoverished areas of the world, and have plans to create more in 2015. From 2011 through 2013 Indianapolis has produced the biggest Playing For Change Day of over 300 worldwide. Along with it's parent organization, Indiana Acoustic Music Society, PFC Day Indy has raised over $6000 for Playing For Change Foundation. In 2013 PFC Day Indy became the sole music producer for Art Squared, in the Fountain Square Cultural District, and will return to Art Squared on September 20, 2014, bringing over 50 musicians and volunteers to celebrate Playing For Change Day IV. New for Indiana Acoustic Music Society and PFC Day Indy in 2014 are two collaborations with IndyFringe Festival. Indiana Acoustic Music Society joins IndyFringe in producing a five week festival of downtown busking, while PFC Day Indy will celebrate IndyFringe with an evening of music in the Fringe Flat 12 Beer Tent.
