Brazilian Jazz on a Surfboard

Mike Tracy is a Louisville native who is passionate about jazz music. He is the professor of jazz at the University of Louisville and a well-traveled musician with a lot to offer. You may have heard of Tracy before as he has accompanied some of the biggest names in jazz to date like Ella Fitzgerald, The Temptations and Frankie Valli. Tracy’s newest album, Surfboard, with its eclectic sounds of the Brazilian culture was featured on WICR’s New Music at Noon program not too long ago. In this podcast, I chat with him about his experiences with Jazz, how he got his start and where he found his inspiration for Surfboard.
