Big Art, No Sweat

Yes, it's the dog days of summer and hotter than blue blazes, but what better way to wrap up the summer season of art fairs than to stroll around the gorgeous grounds of the Indianapolis Museum of Art for the 48th annual Penrod Arts Fair?

Each year on the first Saturday following Labor Day, Penrod, which is the largest single-day event of its kind in the country, attracts more than 20,000 patrons. Tomorrow 300-plus artists will assemble on the IMA grounds to sell their creative works (from paintings and jewelry to pottery, sculptures and glass arts) amid live musical performers, local food and drink vendors, more than 50 arts-related nonprofit organizations and an extensive kids area, to occupy the interests of young ones in tow.

Adults can quench their thirst and quaff local small-batch brews from the Indiana Craft Beer Garden set up on site. Upland Brewing Company, Thr3e Wise Men Brewing Company and  Flat 12 Bierwerks will all be represented there.

Saturday's hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information or to purchase tickets in advance, click here.http://www.penrod.org/
