Auto Exotica

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is most famous for the big race -- the Indy 500. But just as the track becomes known in more racing circles as additional wheel-to-wheel competitions are added to its schedule, the IMS also serves as a hub for celebrating the art and form of motorized vehicles.

That aspect of the speedway's mission was on full display, alongside the new Indy Grand Prix race, on Saturday, May 10, at the Celebration of Automobiles. From grand old rumblers to gearhead muscle cars, collectors' classic chassis and shiny chrome details were among the auto-world eye candy at the show. The event also included motorcycles.

Sky Blue Window sent photographer Whitney Walker to capture the artful hood ornaments, meticulous paint jobs, wheels -- of rubber and steering varieties -- and plenty more.
